We all need encouragement, and that’s what pastor, author, and evangelist Danny Yamashiro offers on A Slice of The Good Life. Having experienced God’s healing after a 400-foot fall, Danny invites his guests to tell their own stories of God’s miraculous working in their lives. Each episode is an excerpt from his hour long show, The Good Life Hawaii, whose mission is to help people find their God-given purpose.

At 18, Danny Yamashiro survived a deadly 400 foot fall (122 m) from the famed Pali ridge in Hawaii. Rescuing his girlfriend from a 20 foot fall (6 m), Danny slipped and fell head first 300 feet (91 m) and later another 100 feet (31 m). He suffered traumatic brain injuries (skull fractures, torn scalp), a shattered ankle, smashed organs, extensive lacerations, and being comatose. A spiritual awakening impacted his recovery and drove Danny to help people uncover their own God-given purpose.
Danny is now a chaplain at MIT. A master’s at Harvard and summer studies at Oxford preceded his doctoral research on American presidents and childhood trauma. As an author, speaker, and talk-show host his programs have reached people in over 100 nations. Earlier degrees in biblical studies and theology prepared him for 30 years of non-profit leadership as president of JCCY, Inc.
Danny lives with his wife, Jamie, in Brookline, Massachusetts. Their adult children are Allie, Hugh, and Luke.
